The big music events are revving up…

OTR II: JAY-Z & BEYONCE — Oct. 2 at BC Place
Ok, so Jay-Z gets top billing on this tour, but not for us! Music’s royal couple, Beyoncé and Jay-Z have announced the “sequel” to their 2014 “On The Run” tour. Since then, both have released albums about Hova’s self-confessed infidelity. Should make for an interesting tour… Tickets go on sale Monday, March 19. They won’t be cheap.

SKOOKUM FESTIVAL — Sept. 7-9 at Stanley Park
Despite the collapse and/or disappearance of several music festivals in BC in the last few years, we have a new one to celebrate. The Skookum festival is taking over Stanley Park September 7-9 with a “killer” lineup that includes headliners The Killers and Florence and the Machine. Pre-sales start soon.

GLOBAL CITIZEN — April 12 at Commodore
If tickets to Bey and Jay and Skookum are a little out of your price range, you have another option. The Global Citizen was launched in Montreal in 2016 as a platform for activism. By visiting their website at www.globalcitizen.org/vancouver and joining in on a petition or two in aid of women’s health, women’s economic empowerment and climate change, you can enter to win free tickets to an April 12 concert featuring Canadian rocker  Sam Roberts, with supporting guests The Elwins, Crown Lands and Horsepowar.
