Alberta Ballet’s new jukebox musical Love Lies Bleeding answers the great gay question: What happens when you take the music of Sir Elton John and add a dance troupe’s worth of hot boys Crocodile Rock-ing it in sequined codpieces?

The answer: Art.

Alberta Ballet Artistic director Jean Grand-Maître has taken 14 of the Rocket Man‘s classic songs and created a spectacular Vegas-style homo explosion about a young fan’s Yellow Brick Road-like journey to self-discovery — complete with a trio of leaping drag queens, a gay baseball team, and of course, a heartwarming love story.
