FUNNY GIRL

Watch Vancouver’s favourite gay stand-up comedian Darcy Michael kill tonight on CBC.
If you’re a follower of standup in this town, you’ve definitely heard of the gruff-voiced, pot-smoking, gay-married Darcy Michael (pictured). If not, it’s high time you did.
Hailing from the deepest, darkest corner of Ladner, Michael, a Canadian Comedy Award nominee, has opened for the likes of Scott Thompson and Janeane Garafolo and recently played a unicorn in the upcoming big-screen comedy Lloyd the Conqueror, opposite Brian Posehn and Harland Williams. The guy is going places.
Like Winnipeg.
That’s right, Darcy Michael is headlining the Hystereotypes show direct from the Winnipeg Comedy Festival — airing tonight on CBC Television at 9 pm — alongside Sherri D. Sutton, A.K.A. the “white Wanda Sykes” and host Jason Priestley (?).
We’re not joking about Jason Priestley hosting… Seriously random, right?
If you don’t want to miss tonight’s Gossip Girl rerun on MuchMusic, we understand. You’ll still have a chance to see Darcy joke it up. This time live. He’s announced a New Year’s Eve run (Dec. 29-31) at The Comedy Mix with every gay’s fave cat lady, Video on Trial‘s Debra DiGiovanni.
