Looking for some hot stuff?

Long before Madonna’s “Vogue” had straights striking a pose on dance floors from Texas to Taiwan, gay filmmaker Jennie Livingston trained her cameras on the “Golden Age” of New York’s underground ball culture — the birthplace of voguing — and followed the lives of the inner-city queens who started it all.

The resulting documentary, Paris Is Burning (pictured), took home the 1991 Sundance Grand Jury Prize and made cult celebrities out of its larger-than-life drag stars.

This Wednesday, the Cultch is screening Paris Is Burning twice in one night in the Vancity Culture Lab. With that much fabulous in one place, things are definitely going to heat up.

PARIS IS BURNING
Wednesday, Jan. 11, 7 pm and 9 pm
