Vancouver TheatreSports’ newest show finds the funny in our hyper-connected and over-shared digital world.

Between Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat and Tinder (let’s not forget Grindr and Scruff), there’s not much we won’t share these days with total strangers.

Now, thanks to Vancouver TheatreSports League, you can curb your social media addiction with something else to do on Thursday nights besides posting photos of your dinner and watching cat videos.

(But seriously, you should watch this one.)

VTSL’s latest show #NoFilter uses our love of addictive social apps to fuel an evening of hilarious improv. The interactive show will feature a projected live-streamed social media feed where audience members can text or Tweet suggestions to help craft the show.

The first half of the show features a series of short vignettes based on things like the actual Tweets of celebrities chosen by the audience forming the dialogue for a scene, or an audience member’s Instagram feed.

The second half of the show transitions into long-form improv where the players have the opportunity to really have some fun with social media, such as acting out a mini-movie based on a Craigslist post or creating their own social media “celebrity.” And like every VTSL show, every show will be unique based on the audience’s suggestions.
