Although it didn’t make the final short list, Quebec director Xavier Dolan’s I Killed My Mother (J’ai Tue Ma Mere) was Canada’s official entry to this year’s Academy Awards.
Dubbed “the Canadian film success story of the year,” it tells the story of a feisty freshly out-of-the-closet teenager’s tumultuous relationship with his mother – an old-school master of manipulation and guilt.
