With reality seemingly outstripping the most outlandish fiction, it’s a good time for the return of the 16th annual DOXA Documentary Film Festival, screening 87 films May 4-14.

We here at PINQ love a hot doc, so we scoured the program for our top picks.

Vancouver: No Fixed Address | May 6
Charles Wilkinson’s look at the ongoing housing debate in Vancouver is a real-life horror story. The screening will be followed by a panel discussion with Sandy Garossino (investigator reporter), Sam Cooper, (investigator reporter), Samantha Gambling (community activist), Fayyaz Alimohamed (economist) and Judy Graves (homeless advocate) and will be moderated by journalist Jackie Wong.
