SCEARCE SPEAKS

SCEARCE SPEAKS

Meet A Single Man’s screenwriter, David Scearce, at the Celluloid Social Club this Wednesday.

Every gay worth his Dsquared2 belt buckle saw former Gucci designer and all ’round hot piece Tom Ford’s directorial debut, A Single Man – meaning many also raised a skeptical, well-groomed eyebrow last week when the film was shut out of the Oscar nominations for Best Adapted Screenplay. Chief among them was local first-time screenwriter David Scearce, who adapted Christopher Isherwood’s 1964 novel for the screen and shares writing credit with Ford.

While it’s a long, long way from an Academy Award acceptance speech at Hollywood’s Kodak Theatre, Scearce will be hosting a Q&A session and speaking about the experience at the Celluloid Social Club this Wednesday, February 10th at the ANZA Club (3 W. 8th), 8 p.m. Admission $5-$7 at the door.
