(NOT SO) STILL LIFE

Going once. Going Twice. The 18th Annual Art For Life Fine Art Auction takes place this Saturday.
Art often imitates life, and occasionally it also has the power to save it.
The 18th Annual Art For Life Fine Art Auction is the A-list gay event of the season with over 90 artworks valued at nearly $200,000 going on the block — including Vancouver-born, London-based international art star Andrew Salgado’s It Is The Fear That Keeps Us Awake (pictured). All proceeds benefit the Vancouver Friends For Life Society, which supports people with life-threatening illnesses by providing complementary and alternative health and support services.
For those who prefer their art performance-based, the city’s top drag queens will be taking to the stage alongside Public Dreams (organizers of the Halloween’s spectacular Parade of Lost Souls) and rocker Bif Naked.
Whether you’re staring at the art on the walls or the moves on the floor, Art For Life promises a great night for an even better cause.
