SHINE BRIGHT

SHINE BRIGHT

Visit the famous Tiffany Diamond on loan to Vancouver.

One of the largest and fanciest yellow diamonds in the world has set up shop in the newly renovated Tiffany & Co. Vancouver store on the corner of Burrard and Alberni Street.

Now on public display until January 4, the so-called Tiffany Diamond is 128-carats of pure yellow brilliance (pictured), thanks to the 82 facades cut into its pillow shape.

Worn only twice in its history, the second time by actress Audrey Hepburn while promoting Breakfast at Tiffany’s, this is the famous piece of carbon’s first-ever trip to Canada from its home in a special display case inside Tiffany’s Fifth Avenue flagship. It’s been set in several pieces of jewellery over the years. Hepburn wore it in a necklace designed by the iconic Jean Schlumberger. Currently, it hangs from a necklace of 100+ carats of white diamonds created in 2012 for Tiffany’s 175th anniversary.

Admission is free. And, no, the diamond isn’t for sale.

Go meet your new best friend.
