COQTAIL OF THE MONTH – SPECIAL EDITION

COQTAIL OF THE MONTH – SPECIAL EDITION

An impromptu boozy iced tea recipe in honour of tomorrow’s International Iced Tea Day!

It’s Coqtail Time! Usually, we wait until the end of the month to share a fabulous libation from Vancouver’s finest restaurants and watering holes. But today, we’re brewing up something a little different.

In honour of International Iced Tea Day tomorrow (circle your calendar!), we’ve got a terrific cocktail recipe from Vancouver’s own Colin MacDougall, former barkeep at Blue Water Café, current Canadian Whisky Ambassador and superfan of teapigs brand tea. We give you his twist on the classic iced tea/lemonade cocktail: the Arnold Palmer!

WHAT YOU’LL NEED:
3/4 cup Chilled teapigs darjeeling earl grey (or any store brand will do)
1 oz. Simple syrup
1.5 oz. Lemon juice
1 oz. Lot40 Canadian rye
1 Lemon wheel (garnish)
1-3 dashes Bitters

DIRECTIONS:
Brew tea, steep for approximately 3 minutes and chill
Pour tea over ice in a Collins glass
Add three remaining ingredients and stir
Garnish with a lemon wheel and few dashes of bitters of your choice

Summer Hours:
We’ll be back on Tuesday with your daily fix of fabulous!
