Last night marked the official opening gala for the 31st annual Playhouse Intentional Wine Festival – renowned as one of Canada’s top wine events.

Over the course of the week, 183 wineries from 15 different countries will be pouring over 30,000 bottles of wine at a variety of tastings, seminars and winery dinners.

While the smaller events will appeal more to wine connoisseurs and experts, the International Festival Tastings are for everyone (and they are where the real party’s at).

Held Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights, the International Festival Tastings give you a chance to sample over 700 different wines from all 183 participating wineries. Usually by this time, the tastings are sold out, but this year tickets are still available for all three nights.

700 wines for $89 – even in these tough economic times, what’s not to like about that?
