Located beneath the Chill Winston, Guilt and Company is quickly becoming Gastown’s hottest new hideaway.
A quick trip down the stairs reveals a cavernous room filled with dark woods and rich leathers that conjures up images of saloons of yesteryear. Barman Jonathan James (ex Mis Trucos) has put together a list of creative cocktails (all named after iconic songs like Strange Love, Violently Happy, Devil Inside and Losing My Religion) that’s served alongside a tasty (albeit very limited) menu of small plates to share.
But the big draw for us was Guilt and Company’s extensive collection of old-school board games. From Scrabble to Scattergories, Boggle to Balderdash and Cranium to Cribbage, they’ve got ‘em all. Where else can you sink your friend’s Battleship while enjoying a cocktail inspired by Bjork?
Maybe feeling Guilt isn’t such a bad thing after all.
