HI, TEA

HI, TEA

CHA LE TEA IS THE NEW TOAST OF YALETOWN.

A new modern tea house is bringing gourmet single-origin Chinese teas to Yaletown. Tucked into the corner of Hamilton and Davie, sleek and stylish  Cha Le Tea (which translates to “happy tea”) features a 100% tea-based menu, expertly brewed using top-of-the-line Alpha Dominche Steampunk craft-brewing machines.

In addition to brewed beverages, Cha Le’s menu also includes a collection of sweet and savory toasts (ranging between $4-8), including prosciutto with avocado and poached egg; shrimp with matcha avocado and nori (pictured); truffled ricotta with hazelnuts and pu’er tea honey; and salted caramel with banana and mascarpone. ProTip: a couple toasts and an Oolong latte make for the perfect brunch.

The cafe also features a full selection of teas to brew at home (Steampunk machines and cute tea-ristas not included), as well as a line of tea-based chocolates that they have crafted in partnership with East Van’s Beta 5.

And just when you thought you couldn’t be more excited for something other than another coffee shop to open up … rumour has it that this summer Cha Le will also be offering tea-based cocktails on a licensed patio.

We’ll toast to that!
