OH ADESSO

Adesso Bistro keeps an iconic West End spot going strong.
It’s an unlikely spot for a restaurant, tucked away amidst apartment buildings west of Denman, but 1906 Haro St. has been home to some of our favourite restaurants (the original Delilah’s, Parkside, L’Altro Buca). And now it’s Adesso Bistro’s turn.
Adesso Bistro features rustic northern Italian dishes, with an emphasis on seafood. While the menu looks likes it’s pretty much dud free, you can’t go wrong with the sautèed calamari with black ink sauce, tomatoes, capers and olives ($13), spaghettini with prawns and a spicy tomato sauce ($14) and the roasted half lobster ($22). For dessert, the “affogato” – espresso semifreddo, hazelnut praline and chibouste cream ($8) is pretty much to-die-for.
Adesso Bistro also boasts one of the best patios in the city, with a garden courtyard surrounded by greenery and West End charm.
