Celebrate how great we are now and much greater we can be in the next 150 years while feeding your face at these food-themed events. It’s kinda’ your patriotic duty.

Canada Day Cookout
Part of the YVR Street Food Fest, this “Austin, Texas-style” cookout (Texas? On Canada Day? Really?) promises live bands, cold brews and hot BBQ. Oh, and hipsters. All the hipsters. Olympic Village, 12pm to 8pm. Tickets $35 online and include 2 drinks and 8 tokens for food trucks.

Canada Day 150th Birthday BBQ
The Vancouver Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence host this fundraiser for their chosen charities. $10 gets you onto the patio, Absolut Vodka cocktail in hand. Junction Pub (1138 Davie St.), 3pm to 7pm. 

RibFest 2017
Five of the city’s top BBQ masters (Dixie’s BBQ, Blueprint Hospitality Group, Railtown Café, Merchant’s Workshop and
Mamie Taylor’s) compete for the coveted RibFest Cup. 251 East Georgia St., 4pm to 9pm. Judging tickets $10 at the door beginning at 4pm. Tickets limited to 100. 

XY Canada Day – DMS Charity BBQ 
Meet up for some meat at the DMS BBQ fundraiser featuring DJ Domtop and the reigning House of Delusion (poster pictured). XY (1216 Bute St.), 4pm to 8pm. Admission by donation, food $5.
