THE BIRD IS THE WORD

It’s not too late to order a fresh, free-range and hormone-free turkey in time for Christmas.

With Christmas less than a week away, it’s time to talk turkey. You can watch all the Food Network shows you want and debate the relative merits of brining versus injecting and baking versus broiling and Southern-frying. Will you attempt a fussy, Martha Stewart-style showpiece, or follow the advice of Tante Marie and just “Put the f**king turkey in the oven?”

Whichever course you choose, it all comes down to the bird. You want it to be fresh, free-range and hormone-free or all that time in the kitchen will be a waste. With that in mind, here are a few of our favourite places to pick up a fabulous bird.
