A THAI TREAT

A THAI TREAT

If you’ve ever been to Thailand, you know what paradise is. The turquoise waters, the fabulous food … and getting a relaxing Thai massage. Heaven.

If you’ve ever been to Thailand, you know what paradise is. The turquoise waters, the fabulous food … and getting a relaxing Thai massage. Heaven.

Coal Harbour’s new Sabai Thai Spa offers up the real deal in authentic, exotic treatments, meaning if you can’t get to Thailand – a little Thailand can come to you.

“Sabai” means relaxation and comfort, and this is one of the few Thai spas in the country that offer an Herbal Compress Massage, or “Nuad Pra Kob,” which combines a full-body massage using steamed herbal compresses containing natural, healing herbs like ginger, lemongrass, turmeric, and cumin. All those lovely essential oils reduce muscle aches and tension, plus improve blood circulation and encourage lymphatic drainage. Stiff joints? Banished.

Prices range from $110 to $198 depending on length of time spent on the massage table, and since a fellas’ face is his calling card, try the Thai Spa Eminence Organic Facial, $94.

Once you’re hooked, and you will be, ask about taking the massage course being offered in Thailand in 2010. Now that’s a vacation!
