CONTEST: MIRROR BALLS

Close out the year with a bang! We’re giving away two pairs of tickets to this Friday’s down-and-dirty Truckerdisco dance party at the Cobalt.

When you think disco, you probably think of bell-bottoms, sequined boob tubes and a shirtless Ryan Phillippe working it at Studio 54. (Merry belated Christmas!) But beyond the K-Tel Records compilations and the bell bottoms a totally different world of underground gay clubs flourished where sleazier, trippier beats ruled and boogie gave way to badass.

Truckerdisco celebrates the spirit of those all-night, filthy and gorgeous grooving marathons.

This Friday (the night before New Year’s Eve), kick 2011 out in style with Vancouver’s Taffi Louis, Jay Douglas and special guest HiFi Brown (Berlin/San. Francisco) for Truckerdisco’s second-coming — a three-DJ circus of classic dirty disco anthems and nu disco oddities to grind up on at the Cobalt (917 Main St.).
