2011 Academy Awards Viewing Party
What:
The Odyssey’s diva duo, Joan-E and Justine Tyme, reunite for a star-studded night.
When: Pre-show 4 pm, Show, 5 pm.
Why: It may be the only thing gayer than James Franco.

Vancouver International Film Festival Oscar Par-Tay
What:
A red-carpet gauntlet followed by the telecast on the silver screen.
When: Red carpet 3:30 pm, Show 5 pm.
Why: Colour commentary by delish gender illusionist Symone.
Where: Vancity Theatre (1181 Seymour St.).
How much: Free with $2 Vancity Theatre membership, but donations accepted for Out in Schools.

GLITZY
Oscars at Opus Bar
What:
Glam Oscar party hosted by CBC’s Fred Lee and Urban Rush’s Fiona Forbes.
When: Cocktails 4:30 pm, Show 5 pm.
Why: Fred + Fiona + 2 free Oscartinis = A delightfully dishy soiree.
Where: OPUS Hotel Bar (350 Davie St.).

RITZY
Little Black Dress Oscar Party

What: A high-end Oscar gala at the Fairmont Hotel Vancouver.
When: Red carpet 3 pm, Show 5 pm.
Why: It’s not the Chateau Marmont, but it’ll do in a pinch.
Where: 900 West Lounge (900 W. Georgia).
How much: $25 online, with $20 benefiting Dress for Success.
