THRIVE ALIVE

THRIVE ALIVE

Join the AIDS walk to Thrive this Saturday.

BC’s first AIDS WALK was held in Vancouver in 1986, at the beginning of the height of the AIDS crisis.

Thirty-one years later, deaths from AIDS in BC have nearly been eradicated thanks to advances in pharmaceutical treatments and ongoing community support. And while that’s great news, it doesn’t mean life with HIV is easy. There are still several obstacles for people living with HIV, like stigma, isolation, limited income, and the side effects of powerful medications.

This Saturday, the 31st Annual Scotiabank AIDS WALK to Thrive and Music Fest will show people living with HIV that they’re not alone.

It’s another step in the right direction.
