WHAT’S YOUR NUMBER?

A word from our sponsors:

him150x200

Knowing your HIV status is an important part of every gay man’s life, and our pals over at Health Initiative for Men (HIM) have just launched a fabulous new website that’s a one-stop shop for HIV testing resources.

In addition to a database of testing clinics, free automatic SMS and email testing reminders, and customizable e-cards to anonymously notify partners of potential STIs, the site features a personal risk assessment tool so guys can learn their “number” — that is, how often they should be testing for HIV.

Some guys should test for HIV more often based on their risk. New guidelines suggest every three months, every twelve months, after a risk event or when you’re planning to give up condoms with a partner or boyfriend.

Do you know your number?

Find out at checkhimout.ca/testing/.
